Here are some of our favorite Barcelona Instagram spots.

Gothic Quarter

The Gothic Quarter is one of the best places to take a photo in Barcelona, Spain because of its unique architecture and stunning views! The Quarter is home to many of Barcelona’s most famous landmarks, too.

However, the best way to go around and take photos here is by just getting lost and seeing where the streets lead you.

The Gothic Quarter is also a great place to people watch and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere of the city. With its beautiful buildings and lively atmosphere, the Gothic Quarter is the perfect place to take a photo in Barcelona.

Parc de la Ciutadella

Fountain surrounded by palm trees

Next is Parc de la Ciutadella, another of the best Barcelona Instagram spots. This place is highly underrated, and we were lucky enough to stumble upon it during our 24 hours in Barcelona.

The park is filled with many green spaces, flowers, an arch (more on that later – it deserves its own mention), and even a fountain! There are also many buildings and monuments throughout the park.

Just get lost in the park taking photos with beautiful outdoorsy backdrops. The park does get pretty busy in the afternoon, so try to get there earlier in the day to snap beautiful photos.

All of these factors make Parc de la Ciutadella the perfect place to snap some Instagram-worthy shots!

Plaça de Catalunya

Location: Plaça de Catalunya, 08002 Barcelona, Spain

Another great spot to take a photo in Barcelona is Plaça de Catalunya, a huge square that’s also just one of the best places to visit in the city. With beautiful architecture surrounding it, this is a lively spot to take an Instagram picture!

The square is often always packed with people, and there is always something going on. The architecture is stunning, and the views are incredible. If you want to get a good photo of Barcelona, this is the place to go!

Casa Batlló

Location: Passeig de Gràcia, 43, 08007 Barcelona, Spain

Obviously, this list of the best Barcelona Instagram spots would not be complete without including at least one architectural piece from Antoni Gaudi. Casa Batlló is one of the most beautiful backdrops for a photo, with its breathtaking mosaic exterior that was designed in 1904.

The building was designed by Antoni Gaudi and is known for its unusual shape and colorful facade. If you have time, be sure to go inside Casa Batlló as well. The stained glass windows are stunning and will truly make your photos stand out.

It’s a popular spot for tourists to visit and take photos, so you’re sure to get some great shots if you go here!

Casa Mila

Location: Passeig de Gràcia, 92, 08008 Barcelona, Spain

Curvy building with lots of people standing outside

Casa Mila is one of the best Barcelona Instagram spots for a number of reasons. The building itself is another piece by Antoni Gaudi and has an undulating stone facade with intricate details that are unlike anything else that you can find throughout Barcelona.

It’s one of the spots on this list that is also beautiful no matter the time of day, but it definitely gets busier as the day goes on, as you can see from our photo. We took it during mid-day.

For an incredible photo here, be sure to get there earlier in the day and snap a photo from across the street so you can capture the entire building. If you’re skilled, you could also edit out any other passers-by if you want a photo of just yourself!

Casa Padua

Location: Carrer de Pàdua, 77, 08006 Barcelona, Spain

Casa Padua is one of those places that you won’t expect to see in Barcelona, but once you see it, you’ll realize how beautiful it is. The outside of this building is green and red with many intricate details that will take your breath away.

Note that the street that it’s on is very small and often just has cars on it, so be safe when trying to get a cute picture in front of this building.

Barceloneta Beach

If you want any beach photos in Barcelona, head over to Barceloneta Beach. This is the main beach by the city, and it has stunning views of both the water and the city skyline! This is also a great place to people-watch and just get some sun during your trip.

For some good photos, consider getting candid shots of yourself relaxing on the beach. Be sure to get the waves in the photo because they are beautiful.

One of the best times of day to visit the beach is either at sunrise or sunset. That way, you can have a cotton candy sky in your photos over the water!

La Boqueria Market

Location: La Rambla, 91, 08001 Barcelona, Spain

Entrance to a market with stained glass that says "St Josep: La Boqueria."

La Boqueria Market is one of the best Barcelona Instagram spots because it is so vibrant and colorful. There are so many different kinds of fruits and vegetables on display, as well as other products like flowers, cheese, and meats.

In general, it’s also a great place to get a sense of the local food culture. When we visited, we couldn’t help but buy some juice and chocolate-covered strawberries.

Even if you’re not interested in taking photos of food, the market itself is very photogenic. The light coming in from the windows creates a beautiful effect, and there are often interesting people milling about.

Again, this is one of the very busy spots in Barcelona, so try to go earlier in the morning (which is the opposite of what we did) if you want to avoid evening crowds.

Palau de la Música Catalana

Location: C/ Palau de la Música, 4-6, 08003 Barcelona, Spain

Close up of mosaics on the exterior of a building

We accidentally stumbled upon Palau de la Música Catalana during our trip to Barcelona, and it’s truly a great spot to snap a photo during your trip. The architecture of this building is breathtaking, featuring fun mosaic designs that you can see when you look closely.

The interior of this place is even more impressive, featuring stained glass windows, paintings, and beautiful wood panels. First opened back in the early 1900s, this building is a concert hall and is one of the best examples of Catalan art nouveau.

Be sure to stop by this colorful building if you’re looking to get a great photo during a visit to Barcelona.

Arc de Triomf

Location: Passeig de Lluís Companys, 08003 Barcelona, Spain

If you’re looking for a breathtaking photo op while in Barcelona, head to Arc de Triomf. It’s located in Parc de la Ciutadella and served as the entrance to the Barcelona World Fair in the 1800s. It may not be as big as other triumphal arches in other countries, but the beautiful red color will take your breath away!

Consider standing a good distance away (like above) to get a great photo of the entire arch in the back of your photo.

Trust us; your Instagram followers will be envious when they see this stunning shot!

Montjuïc Cable Car

Location: Avinguda Miramar, 30, 08038 Barcelona, Spain

Believe it or not, but this cable car is one of the best spots to take a picture in Barcelona! That’s because as you go higher up, you start to see the city from above, which is a truly breathtaking view.

The views from the cable car are simply amazing, and it’s a great way to get an aerial perspective of the city. If you’re looking for a unique spot to snap a pic, this is definitely the place to go!

In total, the ride on the gondola is only about 5 minutes, so be sure to plan out some poses before you hop in the cable car. That way, you’ll be prepared as the view gets better and better. When it’s summertime, you may have to wait a bit longer before getting on.

Park Guell

Location: Carrer d’Olot, 13, 08024 Barcelona, Spain

Obviously, this list of Instagram spots in Barcelona would not be complete without mentioning Park Guell! Made famous from favorite childhood movies like The Cheetah Girls for millennials and Gen-Z, this beautiful park is home to intricate mosaics and offers a great view of Barcelona. Be sure to find the mosaic salamander!

Now, Park Guell is one of those places that you will have to buy a ticket for if you want to visit during their opening hours. Otherwise, you can visit before and after their hours for no cost, but the amount of sunlight is short.

We visited after closing and lucked out with about 20 minutes of sunlight. There were way fewer people at this time, so that’s a huge plus.

For a must-take photo in Barcelona, Park Guell is the place to go.

Sagrada Familia

Location: C/ de Mallorca, 401, 08013 Barcelona, Spain

Two girls standing in front of the historic Sagrada Familia during the day

Sagrada Familia is one of the most popular tourist attractions by Gaudi in Barcelona, and for good reason. The church is absolutely stunning, both inside and out.

If you want to get a great shot of the exterior of Sagrada Familia, head to the front of the church. There’s a spot here where you can snap a photo as we did with the church right in the background!

Inside Sagrada Familia, there are plenty of photo opportunities as well. The stained glass windows are beautiful and make for some great shots. The nave is also incredibly impressive and is definitely worth getting a photo of. Be sure to make a reservation for tickets well in advance, though.

Tibidabo Amusement Park

Location: Plaça del Tibidabo, 3, 4, 08035 Barcelona, Spain

Did you know there’s an amusement park in Barcelona? It’s true!

Tibidabo Amusement Park is a great place to take a photo because of its stunning views of the city. The park is located on top of a hill in the city, so you can get a great view of all of the landmarks from up there.

There are also plenty of rides and attractions at the park, so you can spend a whole day there and not get bored. And if you’re looking for a place to take a selfie, Tibidabo Amusement Park is truly it. It’s also a great place to visit if you’re traveling to Barcelona with children.

Barcelona Cathedral

Location: Pla de la Seu, s/n, 08002 Barcelona, Spain

Gothic cathedral under a blue sky

Last but certainly not least is Barcelona Cathedral. This building is a great example of Gothic architecture and is very different from the Sagrada Familia with its intricate details.

The area in front of the cathedral is almost always busy. There are always many people and street performers unless you visit in the early morning.

While you can easily take a beautiful photo right in front of the cathedral, I highly recommend walking around to the side. There are way fewer people, and you still get the building in your background!

This post was all about the best Barcelona Instagram spots. Enjoy your trip to Spain!
