Daylight Donuts is a great place to grab breakfast right by the gondola, and you definitely want to get there early in the morning if you’re looking to try out some of their delicious donuts. They have an amazing selection of breakfast items, and they make everything fresh and delicious.
I was lucky enough to have tried the breakfast burrito—it was so good! My best friend also dined there with me and had a pancake with syrup; it was bigger than her head, and she loved it.
There is something for everyone at Daylight Donuts, and there’s an abundance of outdoor seating so you can enjoy the great Breckenridge mountain air.
Drive Boreas Pass
Driving Boreas Pass is an hour-long journey through the mountains of central Colorado. It’s not a difficult drive – sure, there are some bumpy patches along the way, but it’s pretty easy overall.
The real treat, though, is the scenery! You’ll drive through lush forests (filled with color in the fall) as the road winds through some of the most picturesque parts of Colorado. Each twist and turn reveals something new – it’s like being on a never-ending adventure!
As you can imagine, the drive is beautiful year-long but is most beautiful in the fall when you can see the changing colors of the aspens.
Ride the Breckenridge Gondola
Riding the Breckenridge Gondola is a fun and unique way to experience the Colorado Rockies.
It’s completely free to ride, so you can take in the breathtaking views without having to pay an admission fee. However, it’s only open during certain parts of the year, so make sure to check its operating hours before planning your trip.
Once you’re ready for your gondola ride, it takes about 13 minutes from bottom to top with two stops along the way. During this time, you can sit back and relax as you slowly take in all of Breck’s beauty.
We took the gondola for the first time over the summer and loved it. At the very top, there was lots of fun activities, like a mountain coaster, restaurant, and more! You could easily spend a day up there, even in summer.
