Ski at the Breckenridge Ski Resort

There’s no better way to experience Breckenridge than by hitting the slopes. Whether a beginner or an expert, there are ski lessons and runs to suit all levels at the Breckenridge Ski Resort.
Despite it being a pricey ski resort, it is worth every penny for that perfect winter holiday. From expansive groomed runs to challenging bumps, plus accommodations and restaurants nearby, it is easy to make a snow-filled trip out of your visit.
Eat at Daylight Donuts
Daylight Donuts is a great place to grab breakfast right by the gondola, and you definitely want to get there early in the morning if you’re looking to try out some of their delicious donuts. They have an amazing selection of breakfast items, and they make everything fresh and delicious.
I was lucky enough to have tried the breakfast burrito—it was so good! My best friend also dined there with me and had a pancake with syrup; it was bigger than her head, and she loved it.
There is something for everyone at Daylight Donuts, and there’s an abundance of outdoor seating so you can enjoy the great Breckenridge mountain air.
Drive Boreas Pass

Driving Boreas Pass is an hour-long journey through the mountains of central Colorado. It’s not a difficult drive – sure, there are some bumpy patches along the way, but it’s pretty easy overall.
The real treat, though, is the scenery! You’ll drive through lush forests (filled with color in the fall) as the road winds through some of the most picturesque parts of Colorado. Each twist and turn reveals something new – it’s like being on a never-ending adventure!
As you can imagine, the drive is beautiful year-long but is most beautiful in the fall when you can see the changing colors of the aspens.
Ride the Breckenridge Gondola

Riding the Breckenridge Gondola is a fun and unique way to experience the Colorado Rockies.
It’s completely free to ride, so you can take in the breathtaking views without having to pay an admission fee. However, it’s only open during certain parts of the year, so make sure to check its operating hours before planning your trip.
Once you’re ready for your gondola ride, it takes about 13 minutes from bottom to top with two stops along the way. During this time, you can sit back and relax as you slowly take in all of Breck’s beauty.
We took the gondola for the first time over the summer and loved it. At the very top, there was lots of fun activities, like a mountain coaster, restaurant, and more! You could easily spend a day up there, even in summer.
Shop on Main Street

Shopping on Main Street in Breckenridge is a great way to experience the local shops and find unique products.
When traveling, one of our favorite things to do is shop local, and this is the perfect place to do it! With all of the one-of-a-kind stores lining the streets, you can find something special to bring home with you.
Everything from souvenirs to clothing and even local brews can be found here, so there’s something for everyone. Plus, it’s always nice to know that you’re supporting small businesses when shopping on Main Street in Breckenridge.
If you’re looking for a recommendation, be sure to stop at Crepes a la Cart. This is a fun little crepe stand that has some of the tastiest treats. I had the Monte Cristo and loved it!
Visit nearby Frisco, Colorado

Frisco, Colorado, is a great mountain town not far from Breckenridge and is popular among skiers. The Dillon Reservoir is an incredible sight to behold in the area! There’s actually a convert venue there, where we were lucky enough to see Noah Kahan perform one time.
If you want an even smaller town feel than Breckenridge, then be sure to take the quick trip over to Frisco.
Have a drink at Breckenridge Distillery

Breckenridge Distillery is the world’s highest distillery, which makes it a great place to go for a drink after a long and busy day of exploring the town. Relax and enjoy a handcrafted craft spirit or beer with friends in a cozy atmosphere that will make you feel right at home.
For a real fun time, you can also go on a tour of the distillery. They are usually about 30 minutes long and cost $35 per person on Sundays. They are small tours that are 10 people maximum. You can also upgrade your tasting to include more tastings.
Go white water rafting

White water rafting in Breckenridge is a thrilling outdoor adventure that will make your heart race! Take the plunge and brave rapids in this beautiful mountain town.
Whether you’re with family or friends, all can enjoy the rush of paddling fast through the water while also taking in the breathtaking views. There’s no better way to get an adrenaline-pumping thrill than white water rafting in Breckenridge.
One of the best tours is this one on the Colorado River. It’s a half-day tour with Class I and II rapids, so it’s even okay for younger children to enjoy.

Hike up Quandary Peak

Hiking up Quandary Peak is a unique experience! Colorado is known for its 14ers – mountains that are over 14,000 feet in elevation – and Quandary Peak is one of them.
It’s located near Breckenridge, and the hike up is around 3,500 feet of elevation gain. If you’re planning on hiking up this peak during the busy summer season, it’s recommended that you reserve your spot in advance, as there is limited parking.
Remember that hiking a 14er is best for those who have prepared for the experience. Reaching the summit of one though is very rewarding.
Play at the High Line Railroad Park

Visiting the High Line Railroad Park with your family is a great way to give your little ones a fun time outdoors while visiting Breckenridge. The park is filled with a railroad-themed playground that lets kids explore their creative side and have a blast while playing.

Our favorite addition to the meat was the Espresso BBQ Sauce – just enough sweetness to make your taste buds sing! Plus, they have lots of outdoor seating, so you can soak in the mountain views and people-watch while savoring their delicious food.
Have a Coffee at the Columbine Cafe
If you want a lovely coffee in Breckenridge, look no further than the Columbine Cafe. They have everything from tasty drinks to sandwiches and classic eggs. What more could you want?
