Hold on tight for the wildest ride yet as Max and the flock take on global warming -- Earth's biggest threat -- in this #1 New York Times bestselling series.
Max returns in a chilling adventure unlike any other. Safe havens for the six highly hunted winged kids have become increasingly hard to find, so the flock takes refuge in Antarctica with a team of environmentalists studying the effects of global warming. In this remote wilderness -- whether pursued by corrupt governments, bioengineered bad-guys, or the harsh forces of nature -- survival of the fittest takes a new twist!
Since this is the fourth novel in a series, it most likely contains spoilers. This review may contain spoilers for The Final Warning.
This novel was pretty good. I didn’t enjoy it as much as the first three, but it’s definitely 5 lightning bolt-worthy.
Max and the Flock decide to take up an offer from Max’s mom. They travel to Antarctica to help stop global warming. Fang blogs about it on his blog. Tons of kids around the world want to help.
The Flock is betrayed by one of the environmentalists. After the betrayal, Angel and her dog Total get stuck in a gap in the ice. They are also stuck with Akilah, who is a dog that Total has a crush on.
They are stuck for a while until Max and Fang find them. They just hunker down in the snow to keep warm. They are then found by some other people who take them to Miami.
The Flock is trapped in Miami during a really bad hurricane. They are placed up for an auction without their permission. The Flock tries their hardest to seem un-likable.
The thing that I enjoyed most about this novel was the fact that the characters developed a lot of new powers. Spoiler (highlight to see what powers they developed) Fang can turn invisible if he stays still. Iggy can see things if the background is white. He can also touch things and automatically know what color it is. Nudge is like a magnet and can make metals move. Angel can shapeshift.
I can’t wait to see what Max and the Flock get themselves into next!
Have you read this novel? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
