They exist in two different centuries, but their love defies time
Cassandra craves drama and adventure, so the last thing she wants is to spend her summer marooned with her mother and stepfather in a snooty Massachusetts shore town. But when a dreamy stranger shows up on their private beach claiming it's his own—and that the year is 1925—she is swept into a mystery a hundred years in the making.
As she searches for answers in the present, Cassandra discovers a truth that puts their growing love—and Lawrence's life—into jeopardy. Desperate to save him, Cassandra must find a way to change history…or risk losing Lawrence forever.
Until We Meet Again follows two characters: Cassandra and Lawrence. One night, Cassandra goes out to her beach during a party, and she meets a boy named Lawrence, who claims that he’s from 1925, while Cassandra is from 2015.
The two of them begin to fall for each other, though since Cassandra is from the future, she can’t help herself but to look him up. After finding out how he dies, she doesn’t know how she can possibly keep it a secret anymore.
I found this story really intriguing because I love time travel. On top of that, after reading, I found that this was a very unique form of time travel as well. No character was time traveling on purpose.
They each simply walked into their backyards near the water and managed to be able to see each other due to a reason that is revealed near the end of the novel. It was rather wonderful.
I loved Lawrence and Cassandra together. They were so sweet and magical. I also really liked how Lawrence seriously did speak like he was from the 20s. Collins definitely did her research when it came to her characters.
I found the ending to be entirely bittersweet. I knew that something like that had to happen, but it still made me so sad, yet incredibly warm inside at the same time! If you’re a fan of time travel and romance, I definitely suggest giving Until We Meet Again a read!
