It's always the quiet ones...
Anya Anderson doesn't just need a big break, she needs any break. Living on the streets doesn't leave a girl many options, so when she scores a gig reporting on the Seconds to Juliet tour, she jumps at the chance to earn enough money to sleep somewhere safe. And the paycheck will get bigger - and keep her off the streets for good - if she can dig up dirt on Will Fray, the irritatingly hot "shy guy" of the band.
Problem is, Will Fray isn't who everyone thinks he is. In fact, he's not Will at all. Matt, Will's identical twin, is actually the guy onstage, reluctantly covering for his brother while he's in rehab. To make matters worse, Matt's being shadowed by a cute reporter with troubled eyes determined to get the scoop. On him. And he's having trouble finding the willpower to keep his distance...
But if the secret gets out, it won't just be his head on a platter - it'll be the whole band's.
This Entangled Teen Crush book contains steamy make out scenes, graphic language, and a love story so hot your copy may spontaneously burst into flames. You've been warned.
First off, I have to say that this is my favorite book of the Backstage Pass series so far. I found the characters to have so much more depth than the others, which made me feel way more involved in their story. Plus, there were so many secrets and lies hidden throughout this book which made my heart race, because I was so worried that either one of the characters were going to be figured out.
Anya is working for wowsounds as a reporter, though the website things that she is married with kids. They have no idea that she’s actually seventeen years old. She grew up on the streets, moving from shelter to shelter just to get by. She published two articles on wowsounds so far about loneliness and being homeless, which is why they asked her to go and follow around Will Fray in order to write an article about him and the other boys of Seconds to Juliet.
Will Fray in this case isn’t actually Will Fray. He’s actually Matt Fray, Will’s twin brother. A few weeks back, Will slipped and fell, hurting his left knee, which later landed him in rehab. Nobody in the band knew how bad Will hurt himself, which is why Matt took Will’s place for a few weeks. He has to try to be just like Will all the time, which is hard because there’s so many little facts that he has to remember. He even slips up every once in a while, which is why he has to have clever cover-ups.
As soon as Anya and Matt met, they really hit it off. I like how neither of the characters really held back their feelings in this book, compared to the couples in the other Backstage Pass books. They knew that they liked each other and Matt made it extremely clear that he did. I also loved the lying and deceit in this novel. I know that lying isn’t good, but in a book it adds so much suspense! I can’t wait for book five!
