Hey everyone! I’m Krystianna, and I’m a huge book and travel nerd. My love for reading began when I read The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins in the eighth grade. Immediately after I finished reading, I went online and did some research only to discover that the series belonged to a wonderful genre called dystopian. I went crazy reading tons of dystopian books; I just couldn’t get enough. Because of that, a blog called Downright Dystopian was born.
Flash forward to spring 2019: I studied abroad in Dublin, Ireland. I travelled during my time abroad, and found that it was another passion of mine. I realized that I loved reading so much because of how easily I could travel anywhere I was reading about through the pages. It felt only fitting to add travel to my blog as well, since this is a passion project after all. A name change was in order, so now this beautiful blog of mine is called Volumes & Voyages.
I created this blog to share my love of reading and travel with others, and to chat about my adoration for adventure with other like-minded individuals.
Now that you know all about my blog and how it started, here’s some random fun facts about me!
*I’m a recent college graduate. I went to university in Boston and studied graphic design and English.
*I love cities. If you’d asked me before I left the country, I would’ve told you that I was obsessed with San Diego, but now that I’ve traveled a lot, my favorite cities are definitely Dublin, Vienna, and Edinburgh. Boston is of course my favorite in the U.S. just because I lived there for 4 years.
*My favorite food is macaroni and cheese.
*I love binge-watching shows on Netflix. Some of my favorites are How I Met Your Mother, Reign, and 90210.
*I’m a huge music junkie; I’m usually listening to music no matter what I’m doing. My favorite artists include Imagine Dragons, Panic! at the Disco, Noah Kahan, Dean Lewis, Kodaline, and Halsey.
I love traveling. As of right now, I’ve visited 13 countries and counting!
This blog was started because of my love for books. I average around 100 books read a year!
I’m also really passionate about design. I’ve done a whole bunch of projects!
