My 2020 Blogging Goals

I’ve done my fair share of blogging goals posts over the years. However, I feel like I always fail at sticking to my own goals! Well, this year it’s going to change.

I’m going to set these goals and achieve them. Or at least try harder to achieve them.

I’ve had my blog for 8 years this July, which is crazy. So, I’m going to try to take the blog a little more serious this year! I’m going to start my just having three goals!

Post at least 3 times a week.

In the past, I posted a lot more, but the last year I just couldn’t keep up with it all. I had been so busy with college coursework and I also studied abroad, so I just had so much going on.

Honestly, I still have so much going on, since I’m a second semester senior in college. BUT. I’m going to try to post at least 3 times a week about books and travel, to have some sense of a schedule!

Utilize social media.

In the past year, I really started using Instagram more for my blog. I’ve been enjoying it a lot! It’s a lot of fun posting photos and I think it could be a good source to drive more traffic to my blog.

I also recently joined Pinterest and have already gained a decent following on there. I can’t believe it took me this long to join Pinterest. Now that I’ve joined, I can’t stop pinning!

I also got a year-long membership to Tailwind, a Pinterest scheduler. It’s been going well so far!

I’d also like to try to use my Twitter and Facebook more. I’m hoping to try using Hootsuite again, which might help with blog traffic.

Social media also would help me engage with the community more, which I really miss doing! Which brings me to goal #3…

Engage with the community more.

I used to be so good at visiting other blogs and commenting and taking part in Twitter discussions. Since I’ve been so busy, I really have kind of fallen off the blog radar.

I miss engaging with the community, so I’m hoping to do more of it this year!

Read at least 30 books.

I have barely been reading the past few years, once again because I’ve been so busy. I miss it! My roommate and I have decided to set aside 20-30 minutes a night before bed to read, so I’m hoping that will help me reach my goal.

Travel to at least 1 new country.

I love traveling, and last year I was able to visit 13 countries. Before last year, I hadn’t even left the USA! It was a real eye-opening experience for me, and I’m hoping to be able to visit at least one new country this year. I think it’ll be doable!

I’d especially love to try to visit a European Christmas Market this year. Seeing all the photos of the Christmas markets this year have really made me want to visit and see them! They just seem like so much fun.

What are your 2020 blog goals? I’d love to know!

I always want to engage more, because that’s really one of the best parts of blogging. Now, with a longer commute, it’s a bit harder, but I will try to go hard on the weekends. I always read the hour before I go to sleep. I need a long time to unwind, and it helps me “quiet” things down. Being in Europe definitely makes it easier to travel. It’s great you used you semester abroad to see so much of the world, because it’s expensive. I am doing a Rhine riverboat cruise next year, which I got a great deal on, but I am dreading the airfare. Good luck with all your goals!

  2. Good luck! I also want to do more with social media. I love Pinterest. I’ve tried Instagram, but I’m a terrible photographer, so it didn’t work well for me.

  3. Some great goals here, I have yet to even think about my blogging goals, I still need to figure out my life goals, I think. I definitely feel like utilising social media is something I should do more. I don’t even remember to tweet some of my blog posts. I think I’m scared to promote my stuff too much which is silly. And what a great idea to read more. I try to read for half an hour before bed, I like tot hink it helps me relax but then sometimes it comes me awake far too late as I try to finish a good book.

Good luck with all of your goals, they sound very achievable.

Don’t be scared to promote your stuff on social media! I find a lot of posts through social, which is why I’m trying to up my own social media game. Thanks for stopping by! 🙂

Eight years is amazing Krystianna! I’ve just passed seven years and I’m surprised I’ve lasted this long to be honest. Instagram is something I really want to conquer this year as well. It was a resolution I started working on late last year and have been gaining around 100 new followers per month by making the effort to post daily. I reached 2K and was absolutely stoked. My resolution a few years ago was to engage more as well and once I got into a routine, it was easy to maintain. Good luck with reaching those 2020 goals and looking forward to seeing your progress!

PS. Also having issues with loading your graphics on my laptop. I can’t see any of your images.

That’s exactly how I was feeling! I was only in middle school when I started my blog. It’s crazy how far I’ve come! That’s so awesome about achieving your goals! I’m sorry about the graphics – I’m not sure why they’re not loading. :/

      Thank you for stopping by!
