Downright Dystopian has officially changed names! A few months ago, I made a post on my blog about your thoughts on changing a blog’s name. Everyone who commented was extremely kind and motivated me to finally take the leap and make this change!
I started my blog way back in July 2012. This was so long ago and was back during the popularity of the dystopian genre. Don’t get me wrong, dystopians are still my favorite, but this blog has evolved into so much more than just dystopian reviews by now. I now review books of all kinds, from contemporaries to mysteries and all things in between. Over the past few years, I’ve also written tons of discussions revolving around movies, books, and anything else going on in my life.
I studied abroad last spring in Dublin, Ireland. While in Ireland, I fell in love with traveling. It soon made me realize that perhaps the main reason why I love reading so much is because it allows me to travel all around the world without even having to leave my home. Travel soon became just important to me as reading in a short time. So, I’ve decided to make this blog a book and travel blog.
WELL, this just means even more posts! I know I’ve been a bit behind on posts so far this year, mostly because I’ve just been so busy between being a senior in college, studying abroad, and working four different internships over the course of the year. Hopefully things will be slowing down a little more next year.
From here on out, I will just be posting even more than before. My new post schedule is this:
Monday: travel post
Tuesday: either a book review or Top Ten Tuesday
Wednesday: travel post
Thursday: book review
Friday: travel post
Saturday/Sunday: book haul or a fun discussion post
I’m super excited to begin this new part of my blogging journey as I transition from Downright Dystopian to Volumes and Voyages. There will be some design changes over the next few weeks too! I hope that you decide to stick around too, and thank you for being loyal readers all these years! Now, I’m about to go post my first travel post and I couldn’t be more excited.
