SO. Though I don’t talk about it a whole bunch, I actually studied abroad last semester in Dublin. This opened up a whole other side of me and made me realize that I have another major interest in travel. In fact, it made me realize that maybe that’s why I even love reading, because reading allows me to travel to any place at any time with so many great characters.
Since being abroad, I started an Instagram travel account, called @WanderlustAdventurist, created so many travel vlogs and travel diaries on a YouTube channel with my friend called Roaming Roomies, and even started a travel blog called Wanderlust Adventurist.
Now, don’t get me wrong. I love blogging and Instagramming and all that jazz, but I hate having two different blogs, twitters, and Instagram accounts to stay caught up with. It’s a lot of work. So, it got me thinking… what if I morphed this into a book blog and travel blog? They are two of my favorite hobbies and interests and I don’t see that going away anytime in the near (or far) future.
BUT. Downright Dystopian wouldn’t be a suitable name anymore. I have thought about if my blog name is even suitable at all since I stopped reading dystopians so often a few years ago, but I have had this blog name since July 2012. I did some thinking and brainstorming with friends and family and essentially settled on the possibility of a blog titled “Volumes & Voyages”. It’s catchy and still conveys that it is about books and travel, so I think it’s perfect.
However, I would really love your opinions! Do you think it’s too late to change a blog title? Would you still read my blog if it were about books and travel? Essentially, this would mean 2 posts a week on books (like it is now) plus two a week on travel, so it’d just mean posting more often. What are your opinions on changing a blog name? Let me know in the comments below!
