They open a door and enter a world
NARNIA...the land beyond the wardrobe, the secret country known only to Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy...the place where the adventure begins. Lucy is the first to find the secret of the wardrobe in the professor's mysterious old house. At first, no one believes her when she tells of her adventures in the land of Narnia. But soon Edmund and then Peter and Susan discover the Magic and meet Aslan, the Great Lion, for themselves. In the blink of an eye, their lives are changed forever.

As a kid, I loved watching the Chronicles of Narnia movies. I remember whenever a new movie came out, I begged my parents to let me go. They were just so fun and adventurous to watch, especially as a child! That’s why I was so excited to see that I had the chance to *finally* read The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe for my Children’s Literature class this last semester while studying abroad in Dublin.

It was so fun to get reconnected with all the characters. I didn’t realize that I missed them so much! It really brought me back to my childhood, and I loved it every second. I now wonder why I never checked out this series when I was younger. I think I would’ve really enjoyed it, especially because I loved the movies so much. However, as a kid, I was too busy reading the Harry Potter series on repeat!

I’m glad I finally got the chance to read this one, but since I knew the story so well, I did find it a bit hard to pay attention, which is why I’m only giving it 4.5 stars.

  1. Lydia says:

I’m glad you reviewed The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe. It was one of my favourite books in elementary school.
Do you plan to review any of the other books in this series in the future?

  2. I just read Prince Caspian the other day for the first time–I forgot how bizarre these books can be!! But so fun and charming 🙂 Great review!

  3. Easily one of my favorite books! Such a classic for a reason. Glad that you finally got around to it!
