I finally made the switch to self-hosted!

Hey everyone, welcome to my new blog! You may or may have not realized it looks different, but on a spur-of-the-moment decision I chose to switch to self-hosted. I’ve been blogging for about seven years now, so it was honestly time to do so and put a little bit of an investment into it. I had been thinking about making the switch for a while, but after kind of being in a bit of a reading/blogging slump because of how busy I am during the school semesters, I thought that having an updated blog where I can make more choices might be helpful.

I am so excited right now too! I switched to BookHost with Ashley from Nose Graze. I am so glad I did. Ashley made the switch to seamless and I literally had my brand new blog within a few days! I’d highly suggest going to her if you’re thinking about making the switch.

I also now have access to the Ultimate Book Blogger Plugin, and I have to say, I’m loving it! I have a lot of work left to do, though. I’m currently going through all my archive posts to update them with categories/tags and make sure all the reviews look similar and cohesive. That’s definitely going to take a while, but it’ll be worth it in the end!

So, bear with me for the next month while I get everything updated. Some of the archive posts might look a little wonky right now! Other than that, I hope you enjoy the new blog design and remember to follow me on Bloglovin’ to stay updated!

      Thank you so much! 🙂

  • Sam@wlabb

Good luck! Glad the migration is going well. I am way too lazy to switch, even if I have the Blogger stigma attached to me.

Congratulations on your brand new old blog! You did the right thing by choosing Nose Graze. Ashley is amazing and the UBB plug-in is SO CONVENIENT.

    • Krystianna

Thank you! She’s already been so helpful by answering my many questions about WordPress everyday, haha.

  • Laura @BlueEyeBooks

I love the new blog design, Krystianna! It’s so gorgeous! Honestly, this inspires me to make my own switch to self-hosted. I’ve been playing with the idea for a while but I feel like I just need to take the leap. 🙂

I keep thinking about doing this, but Blogger is just so easy. Plus, cheap. Maybe some day I’ll do it, although after almost 10 years where I am, I can’t imagine switching. I have heard Ashley is amazing, so I’d definitely go with her if I could afford it and decided to. Who knows, if I get a new job in the next year where I get a big enough raise, maybe I can! Looks great! And can’t wait to see how it all goes!

  • Carrie @The Butterfly Reader

I’ve been thinking of switching to self-hosting but it’s still something off in the future if I do decide. But I’m glad so glad it’s working for you!

Good for you! I’ve been blogging for over ten years, but I’m too cheap to spend money on my hobby, though I love it dearly.

    Your blog looks terrific.

  • Vi @Inkvotary

Don´t worry about the older posts and how they look. Good work takes time and we all know that life wants attention as well *smile*
I don´t know how your old design looked, but blue and white is a good combination and your design definitely looks unique.

  • Laura

Congrats on the move! Looking good!
