Riley Stone is just about perfect.(Ask anyone.)
She has a crush on her French teacher, Alex Belrose.(And she suspects he likes her, too.)
Riley has her entire life planned out.(The plan is nonnegotiable.)
She's never had a secret she couldn't keep.(Not ever.)
Riley is sure that her life is on the right track.(And nothing will change that.)
She's nothing like a regular teenager.(But she doesn't have any problem admitting that.)
Riley doesn't usually play games.(But when she does, she always wins.)
She thinks a game is about to start....
But Riley always has a plan....
And she always wins.

What I liked:

  • The suspense. This novel was absolutely filled with suspense from start to finish. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time!
  • The darkness of the novel. The topics it touched upon were much darker than the average contemporary.
  • The plot twist. I honestly didn’t see it coming.
  • The writing style. There was something so lyrical about it.

What I didn’t like:

  • Riley! She got on my nerves from the very beginning.

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would recommend it if you’re looking for a different sort of contempary/thriller for the summer months!

It is always interesting to me when I enjoy books like this, because I am normally a very character driven reader, but if for some reason, it always works with a suspend-thriller type book for me.

  2. Erika A says:

This book sounds really interesting to me, but if the main character gets on your nerves I'm not sure how much I'll enjoy it because that's usually a big thing for me.

  3. Becky Baker says:

This book sounds so intriguing. I don't know if I can put up with an irritating MC, though. They have to have some redeeming qualities to keep me reading. If I can get ahold of a copy from my library I may give it a try.

  4. I love plot twists I don't see coming! Not sure how I haven't heard of this one before but I may need to check it out!

  5. Michelle says:

Wow, I really didn't know that this book was going to be a mystery!! I love dark and twisted books! I thought this was about a forbidden relationship only, so now I'm super intrigued!! Thanks for being on the tour Krystianna!!

  6. Angie Elle says:

Very interesting that this is a dark read. I wouldn't have guessed that from the blurb.

    Thanks for sharing!
