High school senior Jonathan Aubrey creates worlds at will. In Kylie-Simms-is-my-girlfriend, he’s given himself everything he doesn’t have in real life-–the track team, passing grades, and his dream girl–-until one day he confuses his worlds and almost kisses the real Kylie Simms. Now his girlfriend Kylie and the real Kylie are changing, and Jonathan must solve the mystery of his own life to save his love from a gruesome fate.
Jonathan was a very unique character. I loved that he possessed the ability to create his own worlds. That’s a concept that I had never heard before. I also really liked Kylie, though I felt bad that she almost seemed to start to like him at times because she liked him in a parallel universe!
Of course, this book had a huge plot twist at the end. I was literally mind-blown, though I had suspected the plot twist a bit early on. However, the story convinced me otherwise and made me believe that what I thought to be true wasn’t, and then all of a sudden it actually was! I was reading and then all the sudden I was like:
I have to say, that plot twist at the end actually made me love the story even more.
I know for sure that this is one that I’m going to recommend to people. It’s a wonderful cross between Dr. Who and We Were Liars.
