James Patterson's bestselling Maximum Ride series is back . . . and Max and her flock are ready for their most daring rescue mission yet.
Someone -- or something -- is decimating ships and sea life off Hawaii's coast, and Max and her flock find themselves sucked into the Navy's top-secret investigation of the catastrophe. Their objective: Rescue Max's activist mom from a wicked subterranean enemy. The hitch: They must dive deep into dark waters, where gruesome evil dwells . . . and for high-flying Maximum Ride, could there be anything more terrifying than being trapped in the great abyss?
With high-flying thrills, this soaring adventure takes Maximum Ride and the Flock into terrifying new territory -- fans, hold your breath!
In Max by James Patterson, we once again meet up with Maximum Ride and the rest of her gang. This time, Max’s mother is taken by Mr. Chu. Max and the gang must try to find out where her mother is as well as what the monstrous creature is that lurks in the water. Max and Fang begin to grow closer as well.
Max was pretty good. It wasn’t my favorite out of the series, but I did enjoy it. I really enjoyed the Max and Fang parts. It’s kind of funny though because whenever they get a moment alone together something bad has to happen. It’s almost as if it’s a sign saying that they aren’t meant to be together. I really hope I didn’t just jinx that.
The gang is just as funny as ever. They always have the funniest remarks whenever someone says something about them, especially Max. She knows what she wants and she has her own way of getting it. Another great aspect of this novel was the fact that the flock developed more powers. You’d think that they would be done developing powers, but apparently they are always evolving. It’s really enjoyable when they get new powers because they act so surprised!
I can’t wait to finally read Fang!
