Solving the Maze was supposed to be the end.
Thomas was sure that escape from the Maze would mean freedom for him and the Gladers. But WICKED isn’t done yet. Phase Two has just begun. The Scorch.
There are no rules. There is no help. You either make it or you die.
The Gladers have two weeks to cross through the Scorch—the most burned-out section of the world. And WICKED has made sure to adjust the variables and stack the odds against them.
Friendships will be tested. Loyalties will be broken. All bets are off.
There are others now. Their survival depends on the Gladers’ destruction—and they’re determined to survive.

Cover Review:

I like the cover. It looks just like the Scorch I imagined.
Main Character: Thomas

Story:

The Gladers have finally escaped the maze, but their journey is not quite done. They now have to visit the Scorch, and escape the Cranks, who have the Flare.

Right before their journey across the Scorch, the Gladers were told that they were all given the Flare. In order to get rid of it, they must pass through the Scorch. If they succeed, they will be given the cure. The Gladers don’t know where Teresa is. She was taken. She is used a few times as bait for Thomas.

The Gladers meet up with some Cranks, Jorge and Brenda.

(SPOILER) In the end, the Gladers have a face off between the boys and the girls, and they find that there really isn’t a cure after all. (SPOILER DONE)

Characters:

Again, the characters were awesome. Minho is still my favorite because of his name and his awesomeness.

I liked Brenda as well. She was a great new character to add to the mix, considering that she was a Crank. I like her much better than Teresa.

Thomas was good as always. He is seriously a great leader. I didn’t like how he seemed to have fallen for Teresa so quickly. He should have noticed that Teresa seems to be playing with him.

Teresa really bothered me in this book. She kept playing with Thomas, and I really didn’t appreciate it. I hate it when girls do that. I really liked her in the first book, but now… not so much.

All in All:

This book was as awesome as the first book. I definitely recommend it! This book definitely succeeded my expectations, which doesn’t happen often for a sequel.

Have you read this book? I’d love to hear what you thought!
